Hello!
I hope you enjoy this months' offerings. Thanks for subscribing!
New in Inventory
This month was a big haul: 25 new pieces from the French designer Morel! There's a fairly equal blend of masculine and feminine styles; I carry them because they're lightweight, and the designs are interesting and elegant. Morel has been making frames since 1880 and I've carried their lines since Artisan Eyewear opened in 2018.
5 songs I've got on repeat
1. Goca Dünya - Altin Gün
2. Floated By - Peter Cat Recording Co.
3. Tighten Up - The Bamboos
4. Cada Macaco No Seu Galho - Gilberto Gil
5. Boe Money - Galactic
Blog Post
What started out as a comprehensive guide for new progressive lens wearers quickly grew to a two-parter. Here is Part One, which covers a lot of FAQ's I hear before purchase. I'll have Part Two ready for next month's newsletter and that will be full of helpful information about progressives after purchase; if you have suggestions for a future topic, I'd love to hear from you.
What I'm Up To
Last Christmas I received a three-month subscription to National Theatre at Home. I've only just started using it and -- WOW. This is an incredible gift idea. I recognize a lot of my favorite actors from Hollywood movies: Olivia Coleman, Helen McCrory, Andrew Scott, Benedict Cumberbatch; seeing them on stage is such a treat. I like that the video and audio are high-quality, but they record with an audience so you still hear some of that ‘live energy’ — coughs, sneezes and all.
Optical Tip of the Month
Scratched lenses can be the most challenging part of wearing spectacles, so be mindful of where your specs rest. "In a case when not on your face" can be amended to include a soft receptacle like Sacco Pouches, which have a weighted base and are for sale in the shop for $38. I use three: at my computer, my nightstand, and (when temps are low) the cup holder in my car. For a DIY alternative, line a silicone tumbler with a fuzzy sock and fold over the top!
Okay, that's it for me. If you're inspired to provide feedback I'd love to hear from you!
Warmly,
Natalie
P.S. If you are a client, would you consider leaving Artisan Eyewear a positive review on Google? It would mean a lot to me. Thanks!
